Pain relief following a laporoscopic appendectomy?

I had my appendix removed 48 hours ago via laporoscopic surgery, and when I was discharged from hospital they gave me paracetamol and ibuprofen, but they don't seem to be working. Can anyone make any recommendations of some over the counter painkillers that would work, and also anything that would help relieve the trapped wind in my shoulders?
