Exorbitant Hospital Bill?

I recently had an uncomplicated emergency appendectomy. I spent a total of 16 hours in the hospital including admittance through the emergency room until discharge. I had no post-surgical complications. The procedure was laparoscopic. Aside, from the physician fees, the radiology fees, lab fees, etc which totaled about 4 thousand dollars. The HOSPITAL BILL was over 37000 dollars. This is outrageous. I have received an itemized bill for which I have found several errors. I am also insured. But this bill is excessive. CT of my abdomen/pelvis cost over 7000 dollars - this does NOT include the radiologist read or the technician bill. The LEVEL 4 Surgical cost was over 17000 dollars. Again, this does not include the surgeon's bill. I can't believe this. Even with insurance I'll have to pay around 10,000 dollars, I bet. Is there anything I can do?
