What would happen after an Appendectomy if they didnt get it all?

Ok. Say someone has to have an appendectomy. After they have the appendectomy and they are in the hospital for a day or two, what would happen if the doctor did not get it all and it leaked or burst? Would they go into emergency surgery or what? What is the odds of this happening?
