Why are using the C and T words considered unforgivable?

There is no single word, heck there isn't even a group of words, that a male can be called that he will not blow off. Yet if a male (or female), calls a woman a "C" or a "T" its considered the most vulgar thing imaginable and it is considered unforgivable. And men are considered the less rational of the genders.
