How much time can I take off from school after getting appendicitis?

I had a laparoscopic appendectomy on Saturday, and I was wondering about how many days I should stay home from school. I was sent home from the hospital on Sunday and I stayed home today. My doctors said I should go back "whenever I feel up to it," and said I could even go back today (Monday) if I wanted to. I am still pretty sore, and I was just wondering about how long people stayed home from school after getting their appendix out. Thank you!
